Presidio Heights
San Francisco, CA
This project began with a thorough renovation of the home’s upper two floors. With all-new finishes, lighting and amenities, the resulting interior is composed and serene—featuring modern detailing and lovely marble surfaces in the living room, kitchen and 4.5 bathrooms.
Structural work on site uncovered unstable foundation conditions with existing water infiltration, which was addressed by pouring new perimeter footings and installing appropriate waterproofing. This soft story excavation work offered the clients a welcome opportunity to update their unfinished lower level as well.
In collaboration with the design and engineering team a solution was devised for transforming the home’s basement into a living and recreational space, with a direct connection to the rear yard.
An innovative walkable skylight system, similar to what was used at the Grand Canyon Skywalk, brings light in and maximizes rear patio use.
