Hillview Estate

Los Altos Hills, CA

Located in the beautiful Los Altos Hills area, this project has a number of unique features that were inspired by the clients and realized in the design through the vision of Los Angeles based firm Joseph Ferrugio + Associates. The Dijeau project team worked closely with the designer during conceptualization to assist in developing the scope, pricing and permitting for all the hand-crafted, custom elements.

The home’s indoor-outdoor connection was enhanced by adding larger windows facing the rear yard, oversized ceramic floor tile that flows between inside and out, and Centor stacking doors with integrated screens and shades.

To achieve the contemporary interior existing arched openings were squared off, new LED-lit ceiling trays and coffers were added, and all of the doors and trim were built flush with reveals throughout the home.

In the kitchen the backsplash wall features a mosaic mural in a large-format floral pattern that was derived from an antique vase in the client’s collection.

A flush, mirrored, electric pocket door—reminiscent of the client’s youthful fascination with outer space and science fiction—lends a sense of stealth luxury to the dining room, as does the curved glass, conditioned wine display.

Possibly the most exciting piece of this project was creating the hallway infinity mirror installation with hanging cherry blossom.
